SAFETY AND INSURANCE
A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMITTEE OF HERON MODEL BOAT CLUB
May we remind you that if you wish to bring other radio controlled models/equipment, this includes, although not limited to: trucks and trailers, cars, buggies, planes, helicopters and drones to our home lake in Memorial Park, Herne Bay or any events we attend as a club, you must have proof of insurance and/or licenses to use these vehicles in a public space.
Our club insurance DOES NOT cover you for the use of these vehicles/equipment should something go wrong or someone gets injured. Our cover is strictly limited to RC boats and their associated equipment only at our events or by our members at the lake in Memorial Park.
If you wish to use any other RC equipment at one of our events or during club members time at the lake in Memorial Park:
– Please present your proof of insurance and/or license to a member of the committee or officer of the day and ask permission before using the vehicle/equipment.
– If you do not have these documents with you, you will be asked to put the vehicles/equipment away.
Having said that, if members of the Committee or the club wish you to stop using your RC equipment or move it away from them, then you do so immediately.
While the Memorial Park in Herne Bay is a public space and we do not wish for actions of our members to be the cause of complaints about our club, cause injury to anyone, nor break any privacy laws. Please be mindful, sensible, follow the rules and keep RC hobbies fun!
Thank you, HMBC Committee.
