The attached note was recently received by EMail  from Robert McKay to whom we extend our thanks!

Hello Gentlemen,

I found your contact details on your club website. Here is the  model ship, HMS Heron,  that we have in our family. It is over 150 years old and comes with a small collection of smaller model ships, also probably from Victorian times. The ship has a fair amount of history connected to it. I thought you would be interested in seeing it because of the link with the name of your club and that Heron was made in Kent (Chatham Dockyard).

HMS Heron

(HMS Heron was a Brig – Sloop of 482tons and carried 16 guns. She was unfortunately lost in a tornado off Africa in 1859 whilst undertaking anti slavery patrols. MikeB).
